A faith-based civil liberties organization, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), has described attacks on the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Rasheed Akanbi, as Islamophobic. The group rejected the allegation of use of marijuana levelled at the monarch and called those behind the accusation as rebellious subjects, unscrupulous elements, mud-slingers and Muslim-haters.
