The Fourteenth Moon Foundation has provided meat for over 300 families during its annual ‘Eat the Ram’ Project (Qurbani) for the year 1446 A.H. (2025), across two major centres in Lagos State.
The impactful initiative aimed at sharing the blessings of Eid al-Adha with those in need, fostering community spirit and support.
This year’s project, a beacon of generosity and communal welfare, was executed at two key locations: the Akoka Central Mosque in Akoka, Shomolu Local Government, and the Busari-Lawal Community Central Mosque in Oworonsoki, Kosofe Local Government.
According to Qasim Olarinre Badrudeen, Founder/CEO of Fourteenth Moon Foundation, the strategic choice of these centres allowed the foundation to reach a significant number of beneficiaries, ensuring that the spirit of Qurbani touched diverse households.
“We are incredibly humbled and grateful for the success of this year’s ‘Eat the Ram Project’, which enabled us to provide for more than 300 families.
“The joy and relief we witnessed on the faces of the beneficiaries are truly priceless and affirm the immense value of this highly rewarding project.”
He appreciated donors, including, the Qurbani/Akikah initiative from Malaysia for their donation of many goats.
“This contribution played a crucial role in expanding the reach and success of the project, highlighting the global unity within the Muslim community in fulfilling religious obligations and humanitarian duties,” he added.
Also, Ismail Afenifere, the Head of Logistics for Fourteenth Moon Foundation, noted that despite the commendable achievements, the Foundation faces financial constraints, which limit its capacity to assist even more families.
He said “While we celebrate reaching over 300 families, we envision a future where we can extend our hand to thousands more.
“Finance remains our primary constraint, and we are still calling on well-to-do individuals, philanthropists, and organisations to assist this highly rewarding project to have more impacts. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us bring a smile to another family.”
He said the Fourteenth Moon Foundation remains committed to its mission of community upliftment and looks forward to even greater impact in future Qurbani projects with the continued support of compassionate individuals and partners.
