Man Utd bidding to hijak Simons deal?

Manchester United remain hopeful they can sign PSG attacking midfielder Xavi Simons, despite him reportedly already agreeing terms with Bayern Munich, say the Daily Mail.

Simons impressed at Euro 2024 for the Netherlands, scoring against England.

Erik ten Hag is thought to be an admirer of the 21-year-old and his versatility in either a central attacking position or out wide.

Man Utd want Antony wages covered for potential loan
Manchester United will only allow Antony to leave on loan if another club is prepared to cover his full pay packet, reports the Daily Mirror.

Antony joined Man Utd from Ajax two years ago for more than £80m but has stagnated at Old Trafford.

He is reportedly paid £70,000 a week, which new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe would demand any potential loan club pay in full to take him off their hands temporarily.

Why Man Utd splashed the cash for ‘complete’ Yoro
Eighteen years old and barely 60 games as a professional footballer – and then two of the biggest clubs in the world come swooping in.

That is the life of Leny Yoro, who was in a transfer tussle between Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Finally, the saga has concluded. The teenage French defender has moved to Old Trafford to complete a £58.9m transfer.

So why is there the hype for a young defender with only one full season as a regular first-team player under his belt?

Ten Hag: I had honest, confrontational Man Utd talks
Erik ten Hag has revealed he had “honest” and “confrontational” talks with the Manchester United board about the future of the club after he was asked to stay on as head coach.

Ten Hag was handed a new two-year contract until 2026 despite guiding the club to an eighth-place finish and the FA Cup last season.

The Dutchman held talks with new investor Sir Jim Ratcliffe of INEOS and has now given some insight into the topic of those conversations.

“The argument they gave was briefly: we’ve looked at everything and put it all together, but we think we already have the best manager in-house,” said Ten Hag to Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad.

“Then I did say: then we need to discuss some things, about how we interact and collaborate. We had a good, honest, but also confrontational conversation about that. As it should be at the top.

“I gave my vision of the season, on the situation at United. And I indicated which path we should take in my opinion.

“You have to be very honest with each other about that. And then it’s about: do you come together or not? I also told them: ‘If you think this is not the way, then we should just part ways.’”

Man Utd agree personal terms with Ugarte’
Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Romano says contract terms have been discussed, with Ugarte keen on moving to United even without Champions League football.

Club-to-club talks are understood to be taking place with PSG, with more clubs also interested in the 23-year-old.

Ugarte has the same agent as Leny Yoro, who completed his move to Old Trafford on Thursday to become United’s second signing of the summer after Joshua Zirkzee.
