A Chairmanship aspirant at Lagos Mainland Local Government, Ayodeji Rilwan Tinubu has expressed profound appreciation for the Judiciary following the landmark Supreme Court judgement made today affirming Local Government autonomy.

The apex court’s decision mandates that all local government allocations be paid directly to democratically elected local governments across the 774 local government areas in Nigeria.

Ayodeji Tinubu praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering support for this position. He noted that this significant ruling will deepen democracy in Nigeria, allowing local populations to experience the tangible impacts of governance and receive a greater share of the dividends of democracy.

In his statement, Ayodeji Tinubu emphasized the importance of the court’s judgement, urging Nigerians to take ownership of this pivotal decision. He highlighted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s stance reflects a genuine commitment to the nation’s progress and well-being.

This historic judgement marks a new chapter in Nigeria’s democratic journey, ensuring that local governments are empowered to serve their communities effectively and their transparently.
