It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that the National Headquarters of the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria received the devastating news of the passing of our beloved brother and member, Ustaz Alqasim Usman Ibrahim, the respected Ameer of MSSN Yauri Area Council; who was abducted in his farm by armed criminals on Saturday 16th November 2025.
Despite prayers and hopes for his safe return, we were deeply pained to learn that he was confirmed killed on Sunday 17th November 2025. This tragic loss has thrown our entire organization into mourning. Ustaz Alqasim was not only a committed leader but a shining example of integrity, selflessness, and dedication to the work of Islam.
His contributions to the growth of MSSN and his unwavering commitment to the moral and spiritual upliftment of Muslim youths will forever be remembered.
On behalf of the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN), National Headquarters, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, the Yauri Area Council, Kebbi State Area Unit, and the entire Muslim Ummah.
We pray that Allah, in His infinite mercy, forgives Ustaz Alqasim’s shortcomings, accepts his good deeds, expands his grave, and grants him the highest rank in Jannatul Firdaus.
Losing a young, vibrant, and devoted leader in such a tragic manner is a profound reminder of the fragility of life and the need for steadfastness and reliance on Allah in all situations.
As an organization, we unequivocally condemn this barbaric and senseless act. The kidnapping and killing of innocent citizens especially individuals who devote their lives to community service, religious guidance, and peaceful coexistence must not be tolerated in any form.
This painful incident underscores the urgent need for government at all levels to intensify efforts in addressing the security challenges that continue to ravage many communities in our nation. We call on security agencies to act swiftly, professionally, and decisively to ensure that the perpetrators of this heinous crime are brought to justice. It is unacceptable that hardworking Nigerians cannot go to their farms or workplaces without fear of being abducted or killed.
We also reaffirm our firm stand as the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria; we will continue to advocate for justice, peace, and the protection of the lives and rights of all Nigerian citizens, especially Muslim youths who remain vulnerable in many parts of the country. The death of Ustaz Alqasim strengthens our resolve to demand a safer society where every young Muslim can live, learn, serve, and worship without fear. We will continue to support our members spiritually, emotionally, and morally, while working with relevant authorities and community leaders to foster a more secure environment.
To the grieving family, the MSSN Yauri Area Council, and all who knew him, we stand with you in this dark and painful moment. Your grief is our grief, and your loss is our loss. Ustaz Alqasim lived a life dedicated to Allah, and we pray that Allah counts him among the martyrs (shuhada), grants you patience (sabr), and rewards you abundantly for your endurance.
May Allah protect all Muslim youths across Nigeria, strengthen our unity, and grant us peace and security in our communities.
Indeed, from Allah we come and to Him we shall return.
May Allah grant Ustaz Alqasim eternal rest and elevate his soul among the righteous. Ameen.
