The assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, Hamas’s political chief, in Iran’s capital early this morning, makes it clear that Israel is determined to continue its ruthless strategy of destroying the leadership of the Palestinian resistance. This however is a strategy doomed to failure.
The people of Palestine will not be intimidated by such brutal acts of state terrorism into abandoning their struggle against Israeli oppression, nor will they succumb to Israel push for the “Final Solution”.
With the killing of this latest martyr amidst the horrendous genocidal conflict in Gaza, Israel has opened a beehive without protective cloth, and the consequences will be far-reaching.
Hamas will be pained by this horrific crime by Israel but proud that one of its prominent leaders is leading their mujahideen to martyrdom. Without a doubt, the day of reckoning for Israel will come. The US policies and practices in the Middle East continue to lead the region into chaos and undermine the chances of peace globally.
May Allah accept the soul of our brother Ismail Haniyeh. Palestine will be free.
