BUA Foods Appoints Sodiq Oyeleke As Media, PR Manager

MediaFuse-Dentsu Nigeria’s Communication Manager, Sodiq Oyeleke, has been appointed as BUA Foods’s Media and Public Relations Manager.

In his new role, Sodiq, in a LinkedIn Post, noted that he would be responsible for overseeing all media and public relations activities, developing and implementing communication plans, and ensuring that BUA Foods’ brand message is effectively conveyed to its diverse audience.

He also said he would work closely with the marketing and communications team to promote the company’s vision, mission, and values, and to support its ongoing growth and sustainability initiatives.

Sodiq brings a wealth of experience in media relations, public affairs, and strategic communications to his new role, further strengthening BUA Foods’ commitment to enhancing its brand presence and stakeholder engagement.

Sodiq Oyeleke is a seasoned communications professional with a proven track record of success in the media industry, where he ALSO demonstrated exceptional media strategy, content creation, and communication skills.

His extensive knowledge and expertise will be instrumental in advancing BUA Foods’ communication strategies and fostering positive relationships with the media, customers, and the public.

About Sodiq Oyeleke

Sodiq Oyeleke is the new Media and Public Relations Manager of BUA Foods Plc, a leading Food and Fast-moving Consumer Goods (“FMCG”).

A multi-skilled professional with over 10 years of experience in corporate communications, branding, sustainability, and journalism, Oyeleke delivers results through strategic communication, content creation, media management, employer branding, CSR, and stakeholder engagement (including diversity and inclusion).

He also has extensive experience in change management, working with senior leadership, managing multiple stakeholders, and collaborating with cross-functional and global teams.

He worked with The PUNCH, Daily Times and Daily Independent, where he rose to an assistant editor’s rank. He recently left global advertising giant – dentsu, which exists in over 160 markets worldwide, to join BUA, a world-class conglomerate providing high-quality products and services in business areas spanning sugar and cement manufacturing, flour milling, oil milling, port concession, real estate development, oil and gas, and shipping.

During the Nigeria Institute Of Journalism’s convocation ceremony in 2012, emerged as the Best Graduating student with distinction and became a media darling with his captivating story of perseverance when he recounted his daily struggles, which included long treks home from Ogba to Ebute Metta in Lagos, spending nights under the bridge at Computer Village, working weekend party gigs as a server, and selling sachet water and eggs while navigating Lagos traffic.

SDK, as he is fondly called, is an associate of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management.

He holds a B.A in English Language from Obafemi Awolowo University and he is currently a postgraduate student at the University of Lagos studying Mass Communication.

Oyeleke has handled public relations and crisis management activities for leading brands in Nigeria including foreign varsities in Nigeria, tier-1 banks, food companies, prominent nongovernmental organisations, web hosting firm, and health management organisation.
