Lagos Announces Road Closure For Fanti Carnival

The Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, has announced the temporary closure of some roads ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled for Monday, 6th April 2026.

The affected roads to be cordoned off include:

• King George V Road at the junction by Mobil Filling Station

• Onikan Roundabout, inbound to TBS

• Flagstaff House, inbound to TBS

• Outer Marina by State House, inbound to TBS

• Campbell Street by the Old Defence Building

• Catholic Mission Street by St. Nicholas Hospital.

All road closures will commence from 7:00 a.m.

Motorists and residents are advised to plan their movements accordingly and use alternative routes during this period.

According to Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), alternative routes are:

Vehicles coming from Obalende, descending towards Onikan Roundabout, will be directed towards Zone 2.

Vehicles coming from Bonny Camp towards McEwen Bridge, as well as those descending from Flagstaff House towards TBS, will be diverted towards Obalende Bridge.

Vehicles coming from Outer Marina towards TBS will also be diverted towards Obalende Bridge.

The State Government regrets any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates the cooperation of the public.
