Local Government Service Commission Visits Yaba LCDA

In furtherance to harmonise a highly motivated workforce in the Unified Local Government, and to ensure conformity with the set rules and regulations, the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission paid a working visit to Yaba Local Council Development Area to coordinate Staff matters and welfare.

In his speech, Hon. Kamal Bayewu, Chairman Lagos State Local Government Service Commission urged all members of staff to be diligent and resourceful in discharging their work effectively, saying the reward for hard work is more rewards, while appealing to the Executive Chairman to organize routine or periodic HealthCare services, and infrastructure for Staff well being.

Hon. Kayode Adejare Omiyale, the Executive Chairman, Yaba Local Council Development Area, in his response said he was excited to have them in our midsts. He also appreciated the commission’s kind gesture towards posting of staff, saying he was one of the favorites of the Commission.

He said there had been synergy between the Political class and management team and the entire workforce in Yaba L.C.D.A.

Mrs. Abosede Olu Kemi George, the Permanent Secretary of Local Government Commission, represented by the director Admin and HR, Mrs. Bola Ajayi, she liken taking care of ones health to enjoying life. Speaking further she said officers who have spent 35 years in service or those who have attained the age of 60 must notify the Pension Management Board (PMB) 6 months ahead of time, and must exit the service a month before the due date. She also advised Civil Servants to prepare their Will so as to help their family members.

Mrs. Bibilomo Olushetan, the Permanent Secretary Office of Local Government Establishment and Training, spoke on capacity building, and encouraged officers to take professional courses related to their careers and notify the Commission, as officers are enjoined to update their records from time to time with the Human Resources department.

The Council Manager, Mr Giwa Olaiwola, applauded the Executive Chairman Hon. Kayode Omiyale for his love and magnanimity.
He praised him for the increased monthly staff welfare, and purchase of monthly drugs to the staff clinic. He also appreciated him for the purchase of Staff Bus towards the welfare of the staff. thereafter, he gave the vote of thanks.
