The GiveBack Group, with support from the March 8 Initiative, marked the birthday of Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, former Vice President of Nigeria, with commemorative literacy and humanitarian outreaches.
The initiative reached two special needs schools and a community library, celebrating the occasion with young learners and the less privileged.
The first stop was Toluwani Special Needs Center, Olokuta, Idi Aba, Abeokuta, where children and staff expressed their gratitude with songs and prayers for the celebrant. The outreach continued at Ojuwoye Community Primary School (Inclusive Unit), before culminating at the KOA Foundation Free Library, Unity Estate, Giwa-Lambe, Ogun State.
Here, children participated in Read-Aloud sessions using books donated by NABU, international publishers of indigenous language reading materials.
This annual tradition, spearheaded by the GiveBack Group, celebrates Prof. Osinbajo’s legacy through education and humanitarian efforts. According to Lanre Yusuf and Adewole Ganiu, conveners of the group, “The impact of this initiative is unquantifiable and will resonate in the lives of the children touched.”
