The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State, Princess Surah Animashaun, has restored electricity in Epe LGA after months of darkness, promising the residents of the council area Chairman of Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State, Princess Surah Animashaunmore economic empowerment.
Princess Animashaun said that the council also witnessed significant transformations and highlighted her administration’s achievements in education, culture, tourism, environment, health, infrastructures and security.
Giving an account of her stewardship in office at the council’s headquarters in Epe, Animashaun said the council delivered on its promise to restore power supply to Epe, the capital of Epe Local Government Council Division.
The Council Chairman, described the intervention of the Lagos state government-led administration by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), which facilitated immediate restoration of electricity supply to the council as a testament to the commitment of the Tinubu’s administration to its Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at making life better for the citizenry.
She also hailed her counterpart Chairmen of Eredo LCDA, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, and Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, Hon. Akogun Wale Raji Anomo for their efforts in the restoration of the electricity to the Local Government Areas of Lagos State, urging them to safe guide the facilities from vandalisation.
The council Chairman, while interacting with the residents in Eredo and Ikosi-Ejinrin in Epe division, said that Gov. Sanwo-Olu did his best to restore the electricity, noting that EKEDC also stood firmly in making sure that the light was restored in the council area.
“You have seen it yourself that the EKEDC engineers have done the light and the electricity has been restored to the council division, so we should all give kudos to the state government, Eredo LCDA, Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA and the Epe Local Government Area of the state for the job well done,” Animashaun said.
Princess Animashaun called on the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Army, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC), the Ibile Boys, Muwon security outfit, the Department of State Services (DSS), and other relevant security agencies to intensify efforts in protecting critical infrastructure facilities across the local government areas.
She described the state governor’s gesture as salutary, noting that Gov. Sanwo-Olu is a people’s governor and a promise keeper who did everything humanly possible to restore the electricity after months of power outage in the council area.
The chairman thanked the governor for the gesture done to the people in the communities and urged the councils to jealously guard the facilities against acts of vandalism.
She urged the people of Epe Local Government Council Area to support her administration’s efforts to develop the council area, urging the people of the council to do away from destructive arguments on social media and sheer blackmailing.
On his part, the Paramount Ruler of Epeland, HRM, Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun, stressed that the reconnection would surely increase people’s economic consciousness and bring an upswing in business activities that had become comatose so that they could contribute more to the growth of the state economy.
Oba Animashaun commended the governor and the council chairman for showing concern to the plight of the people, assuring that the residents and other stakeholders would ensure the security of electricity cables, so as not to be vandalised again.
Some of the residents of the council, Mr. Ibrahim Bande, and Mrs. Ajisafe Komolafe, stated that restoring electricity to the community and other communities in Epe local government area would reinforce economic activities as well as shoring up the security of lives and property.
