The Senator, representing Lagos West District, Dr Idiat Oluranti Adebule, has described the Supreme Court judgment on Local Governments’ financial autonomy as a step in the right direction.

She said Nigeria is now set on the path to organic growth and development through the grassroots which the Local Governments serve.

Senator Adebule commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his tenacity in pursuing this matter through the courts and also ensuring the rule of law reigns supreme in Nigeria.

She said the apex court judgment affirming local government financial autonomy has strengthened the councils financially and enhanced their capacity to tackle the challenges bedeviling grassroots’ development.

The former deputy governor of Lagos State added that the onus now lies on the council Chiefs to live up to the expectation of the masses.

Senator Adebule also praised the judiciary for coming through in delivering justice to the Nigerian people as well as helping to shape and stabilize the Nigerian political system.

She urged Nigerians to continue to support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and always renew their hope in the inevitability of Nigeria’s greatness.
